April 11, 1994

  • I’m watching the scariest cartoon ever made.  Yep, “The Bots Masters”.  I just don’t know about this cartoon.
  • I wish it was Friday today.  No, I wish it was Thursday because I really really really really want to see “MMC Rocks the Planet” really really really really really bad and I don’t think I can wait any longer.  Arg!
  • My brother bought a Super Nintendo.  Uh yeah, whatever.
  • I hate Brian from FTV.  He sucks butt chunks.   What exactly is a butt chunk?  I’m not sure.
  • I feel like watching “The Goonies” or “The Sandlot”.  Either one, I don’t care.
  • I hate Mondays.  I really do.  I don’t want to go to English.  English sucks.
  • I feel like Kelly Kapowski.
  • 80 more hours until “MMC Rocks the Planet”!
  • Becky said that everyone is going to die in the year 2000 by a nuclear war.  She said that all this other stuff is going to happen, too.  This was all on “Ancient Prophecies” last night.  I don’t want to believe it but it’s hard not to.  Great.
  • Today we had a softball game at home.  We won 20-4.  Rachael pitched 4 innings and I pitched two.  I got two strikeouts.
  • Eddie Furlong smokes.  What a dork.  I hope he doesn’t turn out to be the next River Phoenix.  Speaking of River Phoenix, Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana, died on like Friday or Saturday or something.  He shot himself.  Suicide.

January 29, 1994

  • Today was the One Act Competition.  We didn’t win but I thought we did really good.
  • On MTV you can vote for the number one video of 1993.  Once in a while they show who’s winning and guess who’s in the lead – Aerosmith for “Cryin’”.  It’s at 48%.  Cool.
  • Justin is so cute!  He’s going to turn 13 in two days!  Speaking of birthdays, tomorrow is Christian’s!  Cute!  Cute?  What am I saying?  He’s going to turn 20 years old!  He’s not going to be 19 anymore!  How sad.
  • Kate and I might go see “Iron Will” tomorrow.  I love that movie.
  • It’s 7:32 pm.  I’m watching “The Princess Bride”.  I love this movie.  Cary Elwes is cute.  He reminds me of Luke Aune a lot.
  • After “The Princess Bride” I’m going to watch “Newsies” because Christian’s going to turn 20 years old in three hours and 45 minutes.
  • My parents aren’t coming back until tomorrow morning.  Cool.  Ha.  I have the whole place to myself.

January 28, 1994

  • Oh goody, goody it’s Friday.  And tomorrow’s Saturday.  I love Saturdays.
  • Apple Cinnamon Rice Krispies sound gross.
  • “Iron Will” is showing at Midtown Budget Cinema.  Robin S. saw that movie.  What a bugger.
  • Yesterday we played “2nd Suite” in band.  I love that song.
  • The episode of “The Mickey Mouse Club” that I thought was going to be on yesterday wasn’t.  It was that tribute to Mickey Mouse.  You know.  Where they performed “Happy”. Contento es, content es…
  • Today on the MMC it’s Guest Day and it’s the one with Stacey Keanen.  Stupid.
  • I don’t like English.  All we do is read.  Oh well, it’s better than having assignments.
  • I’m wearing my flannel pants today.
  • When Tony performed “A Couple Days Off” he was only 15!  But now he’s 18, so just forget it.
  • I bet today Craig is wearing his velvet olive green button-down shirt.  I hope so, at least.
  • I wonder what JC is going to do after the MMC.  Movies, TV, music?  Settle down?  Get married?  Have kids?  The whole works?
  • Stephanie S. is like halfway through her book.  Yeah.  I’m on page 30.  So what.
  • I wonder if I’ll be famous and when I die this will be published.  No, wait, it’ll be published before I die, so that the stars I like will come running to me because they read about how much I liked them as a teen.  Ha!  I’ll be married to JC by then, so too bad.  Ha!
  • My brother and Beth watched “Leprechaun” last night.  They said it was hilarious.  It’s probably the same leprechaun that lives in Kate’s fireplace.
  • Deniece is a worry-wart.  Settle down.

January 27, 1994

  • I had a dream that Leonardo DiCaprio was nominated for an Oscar for his work in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape” but no one believed me.  Oh well.
  • I don’t have study hall today.  That bites.  It really does.
  • In the play we watched yesterday this one guy smashed a raw egg on some other guy’s head.  Wow.
  • I watched this cartoon last night called “The Critic” and Hans Zimmer did the music for it.  He did the music for “The Power of One”.  Cool.
  • I don’t like my new schedule.  Well I do, but I don’t really like the people in it, you know?  I don’t have any friends in my Spanish class.  And I had to change my name to Margarita because there were two other Mercedes in my class.  Bummer.
  • I like the last name O’Donnell.  I don’t know, I just like the sound of it.
  • There are 16 people in my Civics class.  We’re one big happy family.
  • According to my MMC sheet today should be Party Day – the one that I recorded but got cut off – the one where JC and Josh perform a song.  So I just set up the recorder.
  • It’s 8:13 am and I’m in English.  We have to read “To Kill a Mockingbird”.  I’m on page 30.  There are 284 pages.
  • It’s 11:54 am.  I’m in Civics.  We’re watching a filmstrip.
  • I haven’t seen Craig yet today.  He was called down to the office.  Ooo.  Trouble.
  • I wonder if Tony got his birthday card.  I hope so.  I hope he uses his money wisely.  Like on a razor.
  • Today the Mixed Blood Theatre came to the school.  They were good.
  • Elijah Wood is in a commercial for Wavy Lays Potato chips.  He looks soooo cute!

January 26, 1994

  • I’m at home watching “The Mickey Mouse Club”.  I felt so sick last night.  I was up until like midnight feeling like I was going to throw up.  I never did, though.
  • “Real Talk” is on.  I just realized that Matt isn’t in this video.  Why?  In the summer when Kate and I first saw this video we didn’t like Tony at all.  What was wrong with us?
  • I saw Tony M. at the game last night.  He looks too much like Tony Lucca.
  • Well it’s 8:07 pm.  Today was the Fine Arts Festival.  We did okay.  We left school at 2:00 pm and got there at around 2:50 pm.  We were third up.  Some people screwed up and there were a couple of long pauses, but otherwise we did pretty good.  Frank from FTV was there.  He’s kinda cute.  He was wearing shiny black combat boots.  He was there to give us feedback.  The bus ride home was fun.  We sang songs.  Katherine, Robin, and I sang “Sleep, Little One” and “Take These Wings” and “This Little Light of Mine”.  Steve, Chris, and I sang “Runaway Train”, and we sang a bunch of other crap.

January 25, 1994

  • I’m at home watching “The Power of One”.
  • I want my magazine today.  Now.  I want my MMC magazine.  I hope it comes today.  I doubt it will, though.
  • Chris never came to rehearsal last night.  Maybe he’s dead.  That would be funny.  Just kidding.
  • Kate had gymnastics this morning.  She should be home by now.  I’m going to go call her.
  • Yesterday on “The Mickey Mouse Club” they had “Let’s Meet Christina” and she has no friends.  All she does is ride horses, make brownies, and play video games with her sister.
  • Barb just called and said that we don’t have rehearsal until 3:00 pm.  COOL.
  • Stephen just did the 8-punch combination.  How sexy.
  • Why the hell isn’t Stephen in “Interview With a Vampire”?  That sucks.  I hate Christian Slater.  Geez.
  • The mail hasn’t come yet and it’s really ticking me off.  Maybe the mailman got shot or something.
  • “All I understand is that I’m not going my Senior Ball because you want to change the world, that’s all I understand!”  Spaz.
  • Hey, the mail just came!  I got my “Entertainment Weekly”.  Daniel Day-Lewis is on the cover.
  • It’s 1:52 pm and Kate is over.  We’re watching different episodes of the MMC.
  • Ryan is so cute.  His birthday is a day after Leonardo’s birthday.
  • Well it’s 3:09 pm.  I’m in costume.  Yuck.  I don’t like it.  Steve and Chris are not here yet.  W0w.
  • It’s 6:08 pm and I’m at home watching “Designing Women”.  I’m hungry and thirsty but we don’t have anything in the entire house.
  • It’s 9:59 pm.  Tonight I went to a Totino Grace basketball game against St. Anthony.  There were tons of cute guys there.  There were lots of people from St. Anthony there.  Yucko.  St. Anthony lost big time: 78-49.

January 24, 1994

  • I’m at home watching “David the Gnome”.  This show is so stupid.
  • The mail hasn’t come yet.  I hope I get my “Entertainment Weekly” and my MMC magazine.  Or maybe a response from Tony, Christian, or Mackenzie.
  • I want to watch a movie.  What one should I watch?  I’ll watch “Newsies”.  What a fun, happy movie.  Lots of guys with good necks.
  • I wonder if David Moscow has a girlfriend.  I really doubt it.  But you never know.
  • Mush’s arms are driving me crazy.
  • Kate finally called and she doesn’t want to do anything today.  Oh well.
  • Kate just called.  She’s talking to me.  She’s trying to decide what to write on Justin’s birthday card.  She told JC that she’s 16 years old.
  • I wonder if Tony has a girlfriend.  Probably.  He’s so sexy.
  • I might watch “The Young Riders” tonight.  No, wait.  I have rehearsal.  Bummer.
  • I just had some pancakes and I feel like I’m going to throw up.
  • It’s 7:00 pm.  Vicki and I just worked on our puppet scene.  Chris, Robin, and Raiza are not here and Barb is mad.
  • I’m watching “The Tonight Show”.  No one good is on.
  • I’m thirsty and all we have is root beer.  Yucko.

January 23, 1994

  • Kate and I are watching “The Garbage Pail Kids” again.  This movie is so funny!  I hate the girl in this movie.  Her name is Tangerine and she is such a slut.
  • Poor Mack just got thrown into a dumpster.  He was crying and he looked so cute.
  • I’m making mozzarella cheese sticks.
  • I’m so glad we don’t have school tomorrow.
  • There was an article about Youth Performance Company in the newspaper.  They talked about the different plays they have done.  They talked a lot about “King Arthur” and “Tom Sawyer”.
  • Well it’s 5:47 pm.  Kate left at 5:35 and said she would call me at 5:45.  She hasn’t called yet.  Maybe she was kidnapped.
  • It’s 5:50.  No phone call yet.
  • It’s 5:54.  No call.  Are we not home yet?  What’s going on?  Geez.
  • It’s 5:57.  No call yet.
  • It’s 6:03.  Still no phone call.
  • It’s 6:07.  No phone call yet.  I bet she had to eat supper and her parents wouldn’t let her call me.
  • I’m watching “Treasure Island”.  You know, that one with Corey Carrier?  Yuck.
  • He’s an Eddie Furlong wanna-be.
  • I do not like Corey Carrier at all.  He is such a dork.  I swear to God, he’s related to Les.  They even act like each other.
  • “Rookie of the Year” comes out on video cassette on Wednesday.  Cool.  I can’t wait.
  • If I married Mackenzie, then Sean Astin would be my brother-in-law and Patty Duke would be my mother-in-law.
  • I feel like watching “Much Ado About Nothing”.  But no, I’m stuck with Corey Carrier instead.
  • In “The Garbage Pail Kids” one of the lines Mackenzie says is,” I’m too happy to die”.  That sounds so sweet.  I love him so much.  Well, him and JC.  And Christian Bale.
  • I hope Kate is working on her Dina and Melanie story.  Hers is a lot better than mine.  A lot.
  • Ivan Dudynsky, who played Dutchy in “Newsies”, is from Minneapolis, MN.  He was born here.  When Kate told me that I laughed so hard.
  • You’ll never guess what was on this morning at 4:30 am:  “Swans Crossing”.  Oh my God.  I used to watch that show all the time.
  • Tony’s favorite singer is Bryan Adams.
  • I’ve been writing in a notebook for 578 days.
  • On March 5 the making of “The Mighty Ducks II” is going to be on.  I have to record it.
  • What does Mackenzie Astin say to Aaron Lohr?  “Mush, Mush!”  Get it?  If not, too bad.
  • I don’t like Barbara Hershey.  I think she’s Corey Carrier’s mom.

January 22, 1994

  • Kate is over and we’re watching “The Garbage Pail Kids”.  Mackenzie Astin looks sooooo cute in this movie!!  They showed him in a bathtub and he has really, really nice shoulder blades.
  • It’s 9:34 pm and we’re watching the Golden Globe Awards.  “Seinfeld” has won three awards so far.
  • I hope “The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles” wins for Best Drama Series.
  • Shit blossoms.  “NYPD Blue” won.
  • Morgan Freeman is announcing the nominations for Best Comedy Movie.  “Much Ado About Nothing” is nominated.  So is “Strictly Ballroom”.  Oh spack – “Mrs. Doubtfire” won.  What is up their butts?
  • YES!!  “Schindler’s List” won for Best Picture!  I got four out of six right!
  • Now we’re  back to watching “The Garbage Pail Kids”.  Mack looks like a Chippendale model.
  • Tony is going to turn 18 in ten minutes.  Poor guy.  No more 17 years old.
  • We watched “Freddy’s Dead”.  That was funny.  Oscar from “Newsies” is in it.  His name is Shon Greenblatt.  He’s ugly in “Newsies”, but actually okay-looking in “Freddy’s Dead”.
  • It’s 4:39 am.  I’m tired.  Kate is reading.  I could just crash right now.  I can hardly keep my eyes open.

January 21, 1994

  • I forgot to mention that on Wednesday I went over to Becky’s along with Kate and Meg.  We watched the movie “Alive” with Ethan Hawke.  He looked really cute in that movie.  And guess who’s in it.  Thing.  Yuck.  I hate her.
  • Oh no!  It and Jason James Richter are in a movie together called “Cops and Robbersons”!  No!  Poor JJ.

  • Deniece’s hair looks lighter today.
  • I’m eating a Starburst and it’s stuck to my top wire.
  • We get our schedules during lunch today.  I have the same schedule as last semester except my algebra and civics hours are switched.
  • It’s 12:23 am.  Kelly is sleeping over.
  • My brother said that Joe N. says hi.  Yeah.
